Becca Kallem was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. After college, she taught English and art in Madrid, Spain on a Fulbright grant. She received her MFA in painting at the University of New Hampshire. She's had residencies at the Chautauqua School of Art and the Vermont Studio School and has shown her work in DC, Madrid, Boston, and at the Bowery Gallery in New York. She currently teaches painting and drawing at George Washington University, the Arlington Arts Center, and area community centers. She likes to make all kinds of work: paintings, drawings, crafty stuff, and illustrations.
